The Sacred Yang

Movement That Serves Essence

As I return form the womb of theEarth, something ancient becomes clear again. The sky above her meets her insilent devotion. An invisible force descending, and open body receiving.  Between them, life rises.

In that meeting, there is no effort, only coherence. A movement that ignites without force. A presence that acts without urgency. And from a place where I gave all of myself, my body, my attention, my devotion, to a plant medicine retreat, I received something unexpected. The opportunity to live what I had already cultivated, to move what had been nourished in silence. To let action emerge from integration. The first shared step of this journey.

For most of my life, I burned bright. What some would call a “Type A” personality, decisive, efficient, action-driven, clear. I’ve always known how to move. How to command. How to organize chaos into coherence. It was not performance, it was nature.
My Yang was alive. Blunt at times, yes, but never aimless. Always seeking expression. In business, in leadership, in the clarity of my words, I was the arrow already in flight. Maybe it was my centurion force piercing though? That current was strong. Direct. Unfiltered at times.Always in motion, always expressing.

Then life opened a different space, a change in how movement related to others.  In welcoming partnership, something subtle rearranged itself. Space became part of the practice. Tempo softened. Listening deepened.  In welcoming the sacred threshold of family, this refinement rooted further.Presence expanded. Awareness widened. To receive my partner fully, space became essential. A space where his own movement could rise, stabilize, and express. A space where rhythm could be shared. This opened a new layer of perception. A deeper connection to what had been quietly cultivated within. A witnessing of growth unfolding in reciprocity. Movement became relational. Strength became shared.Expression became dialogue.

There is a discipline within this force.A precision that sustains, organizes, and carries through. A current that executes essence, protects what is subtle, and moves what is ready. This is the paradox of sacred Yang. It is the most disciplined energy we hold, not because it pushes, but because it preserves. It is the executor of essence. The protector of the unseen. The mover of the soul’s intent.

In cosmology, Yang is not limited toMars. Yes, Mars gives us drive, courage, initiation.
But Saturn gives us form. Pluto gives us fearlessness in transformation. The Sun brings vitality and identity, our radiant why. Even Jupiter, in its expansive wisdom, gives Yang the vision beyond ego, the greatness of service.

Biologically, Yang lives in the muscles, in the sympathetic spark that says “Go.” It lives in our hormones, our readiness, our clean and firm boundaries. In Chinese medicine, the liver and gallbladder govern our ability to decide and to act, without rage, but with direction.

But without Yin, Yang loses its compass. That is what so many of us are healing now | not the absence of action, but the loss of soulful direction. Yang becomes toxic only when it forgets its deeper devotion | to serve. To protect the mystery. To move what matters.

And so we must return. Return to aYang that listens. That does not conquer for its own sake, but clarifies, builds, strengthens, channels. Sometimes this means asking | Where am I still doing to avoid feeling? Where is my movement disconnected from essence? Which planet is speaking through me right now, Mars in rage? Saturn in duty? And which part of me is asking for aligned action rather than reaction?

Some of the most powerful expressions of this force arise in stillness. Ina pause that creates space. Ina step that allows another to emerge. Ina presence that holds without needing to lead.

In my own life, these moments have reshaped everything. Standing beside my partner, witnessing his growth, allowing his expression to unfold fully. Meeting each other in a shared rhythm that continues to evolve.A dance takes form. A movement that includes, responds, and expands. From here, something becomes clear. Success organizes itself around coherence. Action carries essence. Movement reflects truth.

There is something to honor.A steady force that protects what is true and moves when it is time.

This is the YANG I bow to.
