Today, Saturn begins its retrograde in Aries, inviting us to turn our gaze inward. The warrior pauses. Action gives way to reflection. Before taking the next step, we are asked to contemplate the path already walked.

Perhaps it is no coincidence that The Odyssey is returning to our collective imagination. Myth has always mirrored the movements of the heavens, revealing in story what the cosmos whispers in symbols.

Odysseus is the archetypal Aries hero: courageous, strategic, determined to move forward. Yet his greatest battle was never Troy. It was the ten-year journey home. Every challenge became an initiation to understand himself.

The sea became the waters of memory and the unconscious. The Cyclops reminded him of the danger of a single perspective, when one way of seeing blinds us to every other possibility. The giants reflected the fears we magnify beyond their true proportions. Every creature encountered along the way was another face of his own consciousness.

And then there was Athena.

The goddess of wisdom never removed the obstacles. She simply illuminated the next step. Higher intelligence does not rescue us from life; it teaches us how to walk through it.

Then came Circe, the great alchemist. She revealed that when we are ruled by fear, instinct, or unconscious desire, we lose our humanity. Yet when Odysseus approached her with honesty and clarity of purpose, she did not become his enemy. She became his guide. It was Circe who pointed him toward Hades, reminding us that the way home is never found by avoiding the darkness, but by descending into it with awareness, so that what remains unresolved may finally be seen and transformed.

Waiting at the end of the journey was Penelope, patiently weaving and unweaving her tapestry. She understood something Saturn knows well | wisdom is not born from rushing toward the future, but from allowing time to reveal what is true.

Perhaps this is the invitation of Saturn retrograde in Aries.

To realize that maturity is not abandoning the warrior within us, but refining it. To discover that every conflict, every delay, every detour has been shaping our character far more than our victories ever could.

Take a look at your Aries zone.

Where is life asking you to pause before acting?

What experiences are asking not to be repeated, but integrated?

As Kronos, the keeper of time, turns inward, perhaps the most courageous journey is not the one that leads us farther away…

…but the one that finally brings us home.

Myth reminds us that the stories of the gods are also the stories of our own becoming. Perhaps that is why they continue to echo through time | because every celestial movement above awakens an ancient path within us.

And… apologies for the spoilers. But then again, mythology has always been one of the ways the cosmos speaks to my heart.
